Content Design - FLIP CLOCK DOWNLOAD

flip clock digits
following on my renewed infatuation with the flip clock screensave, i've decided to design my own flip clock digits to use in a video i'm editing.
downloadable in full for your own design pleasure.

NOTE FROM JULIE: Instead of using a strip of numbers (made in photoshop), we could make the numbers into two halves (the guy on his blog said that we're allowed to use his own flip clock digits, but we will of course reference it :) ) so yeah, with two halves, it would be something like a frame by frame motion, but NOT REALLY :D It will still have that 3D effect, if we're able to actually make it flip. :) Plus this would allow us to have a clear background, so the big background image would be able to be a massive piece, and it will look AWESOME :D

Task 2B - Scanned Sketches

We've decided to incorporate the idea of having an old school flip clock that flashes the years back from 2009 back to the 1980's, where we are developing our MTV logo concept for. It's going to be a constantly moving motion design, where the background is always moving, and the only stationery object is the clock. The colours would be simple, i.e. black and white, with small amounts of other crucial colours such as red, yellow, cyan, hot pink, to follow suit with the vibrant theme of the 80's.

Content Design - Task 2B Visual Motion
Following on from our MTV logo design, now we have been asked to create a Motion identity that implements our logo i.e. Motion Graphics Promotional Concept for MTV
I think it's best to draw out a story board for these motion logos
I think it's best to draw out a story board for these motion logos
- the letter M could be rising up into a shape of a cube, and the letters 'TV' flash across one of the surfaces to complete the logo
- The letter M could first appear in 2D, the cube shape is built by staticky movements, i.e. little blocks build up the cube shape in a gradient fashion, tv flashes as if it's a light bulb, digital appearance
- The M rises up, and bounces to the beat (mute) as if it's wearing headphones, suddenly the 'tv'shoots in and places itself in its right position

Crude Impact
Synopsis from http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0932519/synopsis
CRUDE IMPACT is a powerful and timely story that explores the interconnection between human domination of the planet and the discovery and use of oil. This documentary film exposes our deep rooted dependency on the availability of fossil fuel energy and examines the future implications of peak oil the point in time when the amount of petroleum worldwide begins a steady, inexorable decline.
Journeying from the West African delta region to the heart of the Amazon rainforest, from Washington to Shanghai, from early man to the unknown future, CRUDE IMPACT chronicles the collision of our insatiable appetite for oil with the rights and livelihoods of indigenous cultures, other species and the planet itself. It is a thought-provoking story filled with discovery, sorrow, outrage, humor and ultimately, hope.
