Content Design - 80's style stickers :)

This is something that I found in my little arts and crafts box, a bunch of stickers that look very much like something that you would find in the 80's. Scanned and uploaded! I was thinking maybe we could incorporate this into our design of the DVD box set :) using plenty of vibrant colours and what not!

DIM3 - Greenpeace motif sketches

We've decided to incorporate a tree into our motif background. There was an idea where we would have the tree the centre of the header, and have the greenpeace issues surrounding it in a semi circle, where it's the shadows of each problem showing. Another idea was representing the greenpeace issue i.e. deforestation through the use of a magnifying glass, seeing the reality of the problem and how that is is affecting us as a world population in the present and future.

The use of the little people represent 'together as one, we can make a difference' where the flag represents conquering and establishing the problems that we have at hand, and taking action to do something about them.

Content Design - MTV Sketches

Some quick doodles with what our MTV logo might look like

Content Design - Classic 80's Research

As we are still designing the logo for our universal/international MTV logo, we're thinking about incorporating our logo into the music genre of the classic 80's music i.e. michael jackson, blondie, beach boys, where all the classics come from for our generation - where back in the day the colours were vibrant and bold, the fashion is seriously REALLY cool and has been recently brought back into fashion, i.e. jewellery, style of dressing etc.

I've just googled up some images that display what it was like to live in the 80's, which might give us ideas on how to design our box set, that includes a DVD/CD cover, audio book, and a coffee-table book. So far, I'm imagining abstract collages, with bright colours that contrast against each other, but the colours would be bearable and yet exciting to look at.
Interesting quotes that I found:
Why Are You An Eighties Fan?
I was born in 1979, so most of my childhood was in the 80s. It was only 2 decades ago but life, the world was so different! Places were closed on Sundays, we used to drink from the garden hose and not contract a disease, giggle cookies came with stickers and Hugga Bunch Bears and My Kid Sister were what I looked forward to playing with after school. Kids couldn't wait to play outside and ride their bikes and we went in as soon as the lamp posts came on. Doors were left unlocked and mom could spank their kid at the grocery store without the cops getting a call. Childhood was rich with memories, and not those of kids shooting other children in school. Those were the days. Kids these days have no idea how good they could have it!

Content Design Project - Assignment 2a

Sites to note: http://www.mtv.com/mtvinternational/
also deviantart & google images for ideas and research.

Possible Music Genre: Classical, Pop, Asian, The classics in the 80's, love classics

Idea 1: Classical... use of an instrument as the MTV Logo such as the Piano (perhaps the keys) etc. =]

Idea 2: The Classics - drum kit in the shape of an M, like a shadow, or old school film, stencil art, wanting to make it into a vintage looking logo, where it delivers the message that the oldies will always be worth listening to and appreciating, because the lyrics were much simpler, more basic, more corny back then, but they're still irreplaceable whenever it comes up on the radio or is replayed at a party event. More geniune, more authentic :)
